Photography allows us to connect others to a small part of our world in a unique way. It makes you look at the world differently. Observing and photographing allows one to see different sides of animals and nature. Watching the hens with the calves has been a real treat this month.
Enjoy the scenery, birds, and calves.

“Stop and smell the roses”. Take time to appreciate the beauty around around you. It is everywhere, it's not only in nature, it's in every one of us.
Photography allows you to stop and focus on the moment when you download the images it brings back the memory of that moment, and when you share the image it allows the viewer to focus on the moment that you froze.
Enjoy today's selection of photographs.

There are so many things about nature that fascinate me. Birds top that list. Spending hours or in all honesty, many, many hours photographing and watching their natural grace and being in awe of their beauty.
Birds inspire me to ponder life. Nature is wise and birds are just one example of how much nature has to teach us about life. These are just some of the amazing native birds that visit our garden.

“We need to regularly stop and take stock; to sit down and determine within ourselves which things are worth valuing and which things are not; which risks are worth the cost and which are not. Even the most confusing or hurtful aspects of life can be made more tolerable by clear seeing and by choice.” ~ Epictetus
Being able to capture nature in colour, her people and creatures is pleasing to the eye through the lens. But sharing those moments frozen in time brings great joy to many. Be grateful for every day...
New Zealand has wonderful opportunities for photographers. From spectacular scenery to amazing fauna and flora. A selection of native birds like the Bellbird. Captain Cook described it as sounding "like small bells exquisitely tuned".
Enjoy images of other birds and creatures that make our world brighter. Please feel free to leave a comment, hope you enjoy the photographs taken in New Zealand.
Lauder Ukulele Festival 2015
The small town of Lauder in Central Otago, New Zealand, came alive with laughter, love and music on Waitangi weekend 2015!
Hundreds of people descended on the village to enjoy a weekend of fabulous Ukulele music, delicious food and often-crazy late night dancing. Barry, Diane, Bruce and Esme worked hard to bring the event together and it was a huge success.
It was a photographers delight, the people were beautiful wearing their colourful hats and costumes while the spectators were bundled up on the first night to keep the cold chilly blast out. Children ran about through the crowds having fun in the fresh country air.

My passion for birds, a little rescued Silver-eye recovering - posing beautifully next to a Ukulele. After recovery they are released back into the garden.
“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.” – Marcus Aureliu
Watching a beautiful dawn turn into a sunrise is a gentle reminder that we are privilege to be alive – Take a small piece of time at the beginning of a new day to sit quietly and watch the horizon. It is a miracle and a reminder that each new day brings a new beginning to your life.
